Australian Property Institute (API)- Rules of Professional Conduct
This short presentation provides a brief outline of the regulatory framework for Registered Valuers in Queensland and highlights aspects of the API Rules of Professional Conduct that apply to all Registered Valuers.

Note: As per section 10.1 of the API Rules of Professional Conduct, registered valuers must also comply with the International Valuation Standards published by the International Valuation Standards Council, applicable as at the date of valuation.

The Valuers Registration Act 1992 permits, the publication of a disciplinary decision of the Board. Except in special circumstances, decisions posted on the website will remain on the site for the periods outlined in the Complaints and Disciplinary Proceedings Policy and Procedure.

Court and tribunal outcomes are independent and public.
Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) decisions relate to complaints or concerns about the conduct or performance of a registered valuer whereas court decisions commonly concern matters of a statutory offence (i.e. where the practice of an unregistered valuer is prohibited).
Where the Board resolves to publish an order made, decisions will be posted in accordance with the Complaints and Disciplinary Proceedings Policy and Procedure. Full details of QCAT and Court decisions can be accessed via the Supreme Court Library website.
